Lisa’s Ladies:
Stacie
Bosinoff Clements: Stacie and Lisa have
been friends since elementary school.
They were in Girl Scouts together (they cried the one and only time that
their mom’s sent them to Girl Scout summer camp together!), had sleep overs
together, biked to middle school together, went on family vacations together
(remember the trip to San Francisco with the Taylor’s?), went to their first
movie together without parents (the “Care Bears”), went to our first concert
together (George Michael), made lots of memories together in high school (who
can forget the black “Hopper!”), took classes together at Orange Coast College
(remember that horrific Science class?!), and remained close friends as life
took Stacie to northern California for school, work and eventually, love while
Lisa remained in southern California for school, work, and also, eventually
love. Though they may live in opposite
ends of the state, they always pick up conversations as if they just saw each
other yesterday. Stacie is truly my
forever friend!
Michelle
Moshiri Cornell: Michelle and Lisa also
met in elementary school and soon, Michelle, Lisa and Stacie all became good
friends. Michelle and Lisa also enjoyed
sleepovers, playing Barbie dolls, learning Backgammon, attempting to beat
Michelle’s Dad at ping pong (impossible!), trips to Lake Arrowhead (“Girlies,
it’s a lovely day to scrape the paint off the house banisters!”) and Girl Scout
camp(remember Matt and Mark playing GI Joe at the crack of dawn?!), summer
night games of hide-and-seek, hanging out during the great chicken pox epidemic
that swept through Kettler Elementary School, riding our”iciles” with Stacie to
Sowers Middle School, baking cookies with Suzanne (still love the raw cookie
dough!), the “smodge,” carpooling to Edison,
working together as lifeguards and swim instructors (“These are not
horns!”), lunches at the greasy spoon, Oingo Boingo concerts, long distant
calls to Omaha, our ill-fated softball season, the cheese fries at Islands, Fat
Tire beers at Longboards, our tearful good-bye when you and Roman moved to
Florida, the birth of Maxim, the trips to Florida (is it ever NOT humid
there?!), and our mini reunions when you come home. Here’s to our many memories, my other forever
friend.
Samantha Dominguez
Humphery: Sam and Lisa met at a City of
Huntington Beach staff meeting in the spring of 1991 and spent the next several
years working together as swim instructors.
By the next year, Sam introduced Lisa to her friends at Marina High School,
including Chara Burnstein, and Lisa introduced Sam to many of her Edison High
School friends, including Stacie and Michelle.
Over the years, these two group of friends became one large group of
friends, friends who played together, including: the Marine Corps
Challenge, golf (remember stretching
with Steve on the golf mats?), countless game nights, trips to Hollywood (the
Thunderchicken rocked Dr. Dre!), trips
to Vegas (strawberry margaritas anyone?), our cruise (still don’t know how 5 of
us fit in one tiny, tiny cabin together!), trips to MCAS El Toro; loved
together: ohhh the crushes on Steve-did
any of us not lovehim???; made memories together: parties with Ol’McVander, rounding down tips,
Don Jose’s for the best waiter EVER- Roque!, Zubies, Mr. K’s for the ambiance,
Dottie and the infamous tight fitting black dress, birthdays (go Pisces!), fake
ID’s, the ill-fated Monopoly night in Chara’s bedroom, the Balboa Bay Club
debacle, pole dancing with Mike in Temecula; cried together: our family
tragedies; and grew up together: the
birth of Tommie, all of the “events’ at your house and my folks, and our
weddings. Here’s to my post high school
forever friend and my Dad’s other daughter!
Just remember, I’m still your mom’s favorite 4th daughter!
Chara
Burnstein: Chara and Lisa met through
Sam back in 1992 (it was a few months after Sam and Lisa began working together
before Chara was introduced). Chara soon
became part of the City of Huntington Beach “fold” and has tolerated many
years of rehashed pool memories and stories, cheered our ill-fated softball
team to their 1 victory, laughed at our drunken text messages from Temecula
while she was working in Boston, had us over for Monopoly nights in her bedroom
(are you still finding game pieces hidden in the carpet?), tolerating Don
Jose’s despite a one-time aversion to Mexican
food, lots of movies and lunches/dinners, trips to Disneyland (remember when we
went on Super Bowl Sunday?!), the super PAC team of Sam and Chara on game
night, sharing a bed with my Mom in New York, “Are we in the right room?,” our
student teaching experience (Clydesdale!), Robbie, Jerry’s Deli, gossip, BBQ’s, laughter and tears. Thank you for sharing the last 20
years…here’s to my other post high school forever friend!
Gina
Casaga: Gina and Lisa met through Mark
back in 2000, when she and Mark started dating.
Over the years, Gina and Lisa have shared many memories from holiday
celebrations, to family dinners, to trips to the wine country, Scrabble
marathons, The Christmas Carol, fine dining, birthdays, jewelry parties, Mary
Kay parties, soccer games, fun times with her boys-Dakoda, Hunter and Noah, game
nights, cheering on our ill-fated softball team, weddings, family tragedies,
graduations and all things “family.”
Thank you for the wonderful memories and for being a part of our family
and our big day. Here’s to many more
memories together my forever friend, the queen of Scrabble and master of
chocolate bundt cakes, Gina.
Pete’s Pals:
Raul
Moreno: Raul is Pete’s brother and his
best man. “Raul, I don’t know where to start-we
have so many stories. All I can say is,
thank you for everything!” P.S.: I
promise no more fights over baked potatos!
Zachary
Perez: Zachary is Pete’s son. “Zach is my son, my friend and what else can
I say, my boy. You are going to shine as
my groomsman. Thank you for being a part
of my day and for being my tyke.”
Mark
Boese: Mark and Pete met through Lisa
when Pete and Lisa started dating. Mark
is Lisa’s brother. “Mark, I know that
things were kind of rough between us in the beginning, but am glad that things
are now smooth sailing. I’m proud to
have you as my groomsman and brother-in-law.
Here’s to more memories and family!”
Michael
Vlachos: Mike and Pete met through the
Boese family when Pete and Lisa started dating.
“Mike is my buddy. I’m glad we’ve
met and have had such good times together.
I’m happy to have you as a part of our day as both my friend and
groomsman. Here’s to more guys’ nights
out!”
Anthony
Rocha: Anthony and Pete met through
work. “Anthony is my great friend at
work and outside of work. We’ve had many
good times together …here’s to many more.
I’m proud to have you as my groomsman. “
